In this article, various guidelines compiled through different sources available on the internet and tips from experts and professionals in the field have been provided to the students to help them understand and improve upon writing these essay. The first step to start off with writing down these essays is the drafting your thoughts and idea as and when they come to your mind and then organise them to comprehend what are you going to write about. If the topic has been given to you, you should start thinking on it and what are the possible things that you are going to write about it. If not then you should start by choosing a good topic and think on what has to be the central idea of the subject which can form your thesis statement.
Attention should then be given to the research work required and information collected. The topic sentences must also be outlined at this stage. If working out on all these sentences seems to be tough, you may start with the thesis statement and then think about the points which bring out the thesis statement and substantiate it adequately and frame those into topic sentences. Then information should be provided to back and support the topic statements without losing sight of the thesis statement, which will help form the main basic framework of the essay. The introductory paragraph marks the start of the essay. It puts the first impression on the readers and should thus be written very clearly, precisely and must be appealing and attractive to read. This portion may be divided into three elements - the motivator, thesis and the blueprint. The motivator is the very first line of the essay and must be captivating to motivate the readers to read on the passage.
Structure of Five Paragraph Essay
It should be attention gripping and may be a fascinating fact, important or surprising information or anything which works to hold the readers' attention. The thesis statement is the main essence, soul and core of the essay. It is the basic theme of the essay which will be discussed throughout the essay. It may be your belief, opinion on some topic or in case of difficulty in formulating the thesis or judgement, the answer to the question given in the assignment can be your judgement statement. Blueprint is giving the readers a broad idea on what all is contained in the essay and to inform them what is talked about. Its major work is to maintain readers' interest so that they continue with reading the paper, as in case of motivator. The blueprint should not merely restate the contents of the paper but hook the audiences' attention and so that they are willing to read on. In this type of essay, there are three paragraphs forming the main body of the text.
In these the support and evidence to prove the point stated in the thesis statement is given. The structure of these paragraphs may be organised into the topic sentence, the supportive sentences and conclusion of the paragraph. The topic sentence is a line emphasising on the strength of the thesis statement. These are formed keeping in mind the judgement line and should substantiate the same. Various supportive lines providing information, examples and facts to prove the point earlier stated must also be given properly. These informative sentences backing the main thesis and the topic sentences brings forward the strength, force in the idea stated. The information given must be reliable and authentic. The paragraph ends with the concluding sentence which marks the end of one thought. The conclusion tells the reader that the section has ended and the thought completed. The conclusion of the paragraph is then followed by the transition sentence which facilitates easy and smooth shift from one thought to the other.
These should be given to maintain the flow and consistency in thought. Each paragraph should concentrate on one main thought and should present the case of the thesis statement well. The last part of your essay is the concluding paragraph. This paragraph marks the end of the essay and should therefore summarize the essay highlighting its main point and strengths and reemphasising on the thesis statement. It should complete the picture of your thoughts and opinions in the minds of the reader, answering most of their questions related to the topic and leaving them with a sense of completion, satisfaction and fulfilment. It may also provide the readers some thought to reflect upon and think over. The after taste of the essay also depends on its conclusion, which also is the last and final impression on the audience. Hence a good conclusion is a must for successful completion of the essay. You can buy perfectly essays at the Essays Lab. All our essays are high-quality and plagiarism-free.
